Learning Platform Technologist (Moodle)

circa £35K Basic Salary + 15% Employer Pension Contribution

A challenging and fulfilling role with a highly respected, charitable organisation. Joining an existing learning team, you will be managing and developing the Moodle-based platform (VLE/LMS) and will also be involved in scoping and identifying new, innovative methods of digital learning content and delivery in collaboration with the digital learning team.

This role will be remote for the first 6 months (due to current pandemic), it will then become partially office based in London and partially remote/home based.

Key responsibilities

  • Management and development of the Moodle Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), collaborating with both team members and external suppliers
  • Manage the implementation and testing of 3rd party tools and plugins
  • Provide 1st line support to VLE users
  • Build, manage and maintain Moodle assessments and question banks
  • Create and maintain learning courses within the Moodle VLE
  • Upload various multimedia and SCORM packages onto Moodle VLE and test to ensure they work efficiently
  • Create and manage accounts and cohorts
  • Analyse, interpret and report on student learning data

Education

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent is desirable

Experience

  • Minimum of two years of experience managing and developing Moodle based platforms (VLE or LMS)
  • Knowledge of HTML5, Bootstrap and CSS
  • Adept at administration and configuration of a Moodle VLE
  • Experience working with various content types (SCORM, video, pdf, images)
  • Experience of working for a higher education institution or a membership body is desirable
