Account Director – Learning Solutions

£60K-£80K Basic +£100K-£130K OTE

An outstanding career opportunity with a global provider of learning solutions who have an enviable ‘Blue Chip’ client base. Using your deep knowledge of learning, relationship building and consultative sales skills, you will work with mid and senior level stakeholders (e.g. Heads of L&D, CLO’s etc.), managing and growing existing key accounts. Proven achievement of personal sales targets in excess of £1M and experience of selling to senior level L&D, HR, talent contacts within the Professional Services, Legal or Finance sectors is essential.

Key responsibilities

  • Creating, building and strengthening relationships with existing clients at mid and senior level
  • Consulting with clients to discuss, scope and craft appropriate bespoke training and blended learning solutions, often including classroom, digital learning, webinar etc.
  • Achieving personal sales targets typically £2-3M per annum via the growth of existing key accounts
  • Proactively researching client specific industries and company structures, effectively account profiling
  • Identify and understand client business challenges and how innovative and appropriate learning solutions can help overcome these
  • Collaborate with L&D subject matter experts in the scoping and learning design phase
  • Respond swiftly to learning programme issues and escalate where appropriate

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience successfully selling bespoke training, digital learning and blended learning programmes of significant value (circa £50K to £300K per programme)
  • Proven ability to manage and grow key client accounts at both a strategic and tactical level
  • Achievement of personal sales targets in excess of £1M per annum


  • Adept at building relationships with senior level stakeholders within Legal, Professional Services and Finance sectors
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Consultative sales ability, excellent questioning and listening skills
  • Possessing an in-depth knowledge of learning trends and methodologies and how effective learning can positively impact from a commercial perspective
  • Strong team player possessing gravitas and proven influencing skills
  • Excellent presentation and sales proposal writing skills
  • Adept at dealing with challenging and demanding clients, surpassing expectations
