Leadership Development Training Manager

An exciting opportunity for an experienced learning and development professional to lead and deliver impactful leadership and management training programmes. The role combines hands-on training facilitation with the strategic development of blended learning initiatives. It also involves overseeing the implementation of leadership and management skills training, with a key focus on developing effective managers and fostering a strong leadership culture within the organisation.The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, delivery, and evaluation of engaging and interactive training programmes that enhance leadership capabilities. This position will require travel regionally to facilitate training 2-4 days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and support a small training team to deliver high-quality learning interventions.
  • Act as the principal expert within the organisation for leadership and management training.
  • Design, develop, and deliver engaging, blended learning programmes, including workshops, webinars, and e-learning modules in collaboration with the digital learning team.
  • Facilitate leadership and management training sessions using interactive methodologies such as role-plays, case studies, and group discussions.
  • Take ownership of the implementation and delivery of a leadership development initiative.
  • Provide one-to-one coaching and mentoring to managers as part of formal training programmes.
  • Monitor and manage attendance and participation in training programmes, ensuring consistency and quality across all learning interventions.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and implement continuous improvement strategies based on feedback and organisational needs.
  • Present reports and insights on training outcomes to senior stakeholders.
  • Work closely with HR, learning consultants, department heads, and senior leaders to align training initiatives with business objectives.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development across the organisation.

Skills

  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Ability to design and deliver interactive, experiential learning experiences.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring capabilities.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to align training programmes to business needs.
  • Ability to evaluate and improve training initiatives based on data and feedback.
  • High level of initiative and ability to work independently.
  • Organisational and project management skills to oversee large-scale training rollouts.

Experience

  • Proven experience in leadership and management training, with a strong focus on facilitation.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement training programmes for managers and leaders.
  • Experience leading a small team within an LD or training function.
  • Previous experience in delivering training in complex business environments.
  • Hands-on experience in delivering large-scale learning programmes.

Education

  • Degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Certifications in leadership development, coaching, or training facilitation e.g., CIPD, ILM, or equivalent are desirable.
