Learning Design Manager (9-month FTC)

They are currently seeking an interim Design Manager to join their talented team for a 9-month contract. Responsibilities

  • Manage a team comprising a Senior Digital Learning Designer, Senior Digital Experience Designer, and Digital Designers. Conduct regular one-to-ones, foster professional growth, and provide coaching and feedback.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, advocating for human-centred design and effective solution development.
  • Drive the delivery of high-quality digital assets and projects within agreed timelines, ensuring a seamless experience across internal and external collaborations.
  • Oversee art direction for internal and outsourced design projects, ensuring alignment with brand standards and design principles.
  • Champion a user-focused approach to solution design, leveraging methodologies like 5Di and design thinking to deliver impactful behaviour change initiatives.
  • Create and build innovative, interactive learning solutions using tools like Elucidat while advising on UX/UI design for intranet sites and related resources.
  • Design for a global audience with an emphasis on inclusivity, accessibility and cross-cultural awareness

Skills

  • Attention to detail with exceptional written and communication skills.
  • Expertise in e-learning authoring tools e.g. Elucidat, Articulate Storyline and the Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Advanced knowledge of UX/UI design principles and human-centred design methodologies.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and maintain high-quality output under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively across teams

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in designing and developing engaging learning content
  • Proven experience in leading a team within a learning development environment.
  • Track record of creating innovative, interactive digital learning solutions.

Education

  • A degree of equivalent in multimedia design, instructional design, or a related field is desirable
