Superb career opportunity for an ambitious and commercially astute Operations Manager with experience within the learning technologies sector. You will be running the virtual operation of a small but growing digital learning provider, which will include working closely with the Managing Director, a Lead Instructional Designer and other members of the team.

Key responsibilities

  • Managing both strategic and day-to-day operations of the business
  • Implement robust process focused on operational management
  • Varied role which could include administrative tasks such as payroll, IT upgrades one day and strategic operations the next
  • Make decisions on commercial pricing for clients and prospects
  • Ensuring smooth upgrades and changes to the company website
  • Collaborating with the Managing Director and other key members of a small team
  • Helping to project manage e-learning design contracts
  • Responding to daily team queries regarding IT, sales, marketing, project management etc.
  • Making key decision on operational activity e.g. procurement of a new Learning Management System
  • Implement and co-ordinate sales and marketing campaigns
  • Act as the escalation point for projects and highlight relevant risks
  • Liaising with clients regarding digital learning related queries and building relationships
  • Manage activities that affect operational decisions and business requirements
  • Respond to telephone enquiries, queries and implement HR functions

Candidate’s requirements

  • Minimum of three years of experience in an operations management role
  • Experience within the digital learning, learning technologies arena
  • Excellent communication and management credentials
  • Happy to conduct both daily, mundane tasks and strategic, longer term operations
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Project management experience, ideally including the e-learning design life cycle
  • Good understanding of IT e.g. websites, learning management systems
  • Ability to work in a small business and ‘roll sleeves up’ when required
