Business Development Manager - Training Solutions

£35K-£40K Basic Salary

An exciting opportunity has arisen with an international provider of training services, seeking a self-motivated sales professional with experience of selling training and/or e-learning solutions. The position is new business focused but includes some management of existing clients. You will be required to actively identify, develop and close new business opportunities (including up-selling), to achieve assigned sales targets. Whilst home based, the role requires weekly travel to London, therefore a residence within a commutable distance from here is required.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve personal sales targets agreed (circa £300K to £400K year one)
• Perform target market analysis and account profiling of new and existing clients 
• Close new business opportunities by contacting and visiting existing and new clients where appropriate
• New name, new logo focused but with existing clients to also manage and grow
• Attend regular, face-to-face client meetings present to new contacts and prospects
• Selling the full portfolio of services within established guidelines in order to deliver profitable new business revenue
• Attend industry trade shows and training seminars where appropriate
• Prepare accurate reports on sales activities, sales pipeline etc.
• Work with manager to put a plan in place and regularly review progress
• Keep up to date with latest industry trends, buying behaviours etc.


Candidate’s requirements


• Sales experience within the training, L&D and/or e-learning sector
• Minimum of three years B2B commercial sales experience, including field sales
• Excellent presentation skills
• Proven track record of achieving personal sales targets
• Possessing gravitas and credibility with clients
• Consultative sales approach and manner
• Proactive, creative, and able to work individually as well as part of team
• Excellent listening and questioning skills
• Excellent writing skills, ability to be clear and informative
• Work with integrity and ethically
• Ability to prioritise and plan work activities effectively
• Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness 
• Computer literate (Microsoft Office, Salesforce)
