Learning industry’s benchmark pay survey launched

The learning industry’s leading specialist recruitment company, Blue Eskimo, has launched its seventh annual work and salary survey. Participants can win an Amazon Kindle Fire HDX tablet.

Blue Eskimo's survey, now in its seventh year, is the most comprehensive study of its kind - and is widely regarded as the benchmark for the learning industry's salary and work information.

As an incentive for people to take part, the company is offering an Amazon Kindle HDX tablet, worth around £200. The only qualification for taking part in the survey is that the person must work in a training, e-learning or learning & development organisation or learning department.

Nick Jones, director at Blue Eskimo, believes that the survey provides the learning sector with a range of information which isn't available anywhere else. "Over the last seven years, we've collected a wealth of data on pay, benefits, contracting rates, job satisfaction - and much more. We publish the results free on our website. There's simply no survey like it - this information isn't available anywhere else."

Every copy of the survey, dating back six years, is available online at the Blue Eskimo website. "Although we include comparative data for the last two years in each survey, we leave the older surveys online for reference," says Jones.

In addition to providing the results online, a copy will be made available to members of the Learning & Performance Institute - and will be distributed at January's Learning Technologies conference and exhibition, which runs from 28-29 January 2015 at Olympia Central in London.

According to Jones, the survey also demonstrates Blue Eskimo's commitment to the learning sector. "Other recruitment companies say they specialise in the learning sector," says Jones, "but really, for them, it's just an add-on. Learning recruitment is all we do - and our core team has worked within the sector itself, so we know it inside out."

The survey is open now and can be taken online - it runs from now until mid-December and takes less than five minutes to complete. The results of the survey will be available early in 2015 - and the winner of the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX should receive the tablet in time for Christmas.
